APARTMENT LAYOUT
Troy New York was an industrial behemouth in the 19th century. It was where the Erie Canal began and was the location of important industrial railroads (once the railroads were taken seriously). During the 19th century, early Dutch farms gave way to impressive Victorian mansions built by wealthy industrialists....and apartment houses for skilled workers who made the industrialists wealthy. This apartment house was the home of a bank accountant, a seamstress, and a cigar maker. The 3rd floor apartment that we are showing was the apartment of a cigar maker of the 1800s

DOUBLE PARLORS and OFFICE
The two parlours are the same size as a Troy family ballroom. They make
a lovely setting for parties. Of course they also function as living room and
formal dining room. Both are graced with decorative marble fireplaces.
